Running marathon for Brain tumour research and The Mens Cave
Donation protected
Hi my name is Cliff and i will be raising money for Brain Tumour Research and The Mans Cave.
Nearly four years ago I lost my friend to a brain tumour that unfortunately came back to haunt him from childhood where he had already once recovered from.
I will be looking to run a marathon in Chester in October in memory of Matthew and I am looking to raise monies for two charities which mean a lot to me.
Firstly I will be donating to the Brain Tumour research charity. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002, and Matthew battled this disease twice in his short life.
Secondly I will be donating to The Mans Cave, a charity aimed at breaking down the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and create an inclusive community where men feel comfortable discussing their emotional well-being.
Matthew and his twin brother Alex were some of my first friends going into high school, where I am forever grateful of them both. This gives me an amazing opportunity to give back to them for that gratitude.
Now, golden buzzer please.
Here is Matthews story on his battle with cancer.
