Clifford Rich: A Loving Dad and Friends' Farewell

Hi Everyone,

My name is Jeannie and with a heavy heart, I recently had to say goodbye to my dad, Clifford Rich. For those that knew him, he left with one final joke. He died on February 24th at 4:20 AM.

My dad was an avid fisherman. My brothers and I learned everything we know about fishing because of him. In his later years, he spent his extra time helping with weigh-ins for bass tournaments held at the Tracy Oasis Marina, when he wasn't fishing them, of course. He was also the president of the California Striped Bass Association, Stockton chapter. He did this for many years and held other roles throughout his involvement, including President/Vice President of the state board of the California Striped Bass Association.

He was a family man. He loved his 4 kids, 9 grandkids, and just had a big heart to help anyone in need. After my mom passed in Feb 2022 due to Covid, he stepped up and helped me (I have 3 children; 2 are on the spectrum and my middle child has type 1 diabetes) take care of them. He would take them to school, cook, and watch them while I worked.

His death was unexpected and was due to an appendicitis he had in November. The last few months, he just got progressively worse and ended up back at the hospital on January 24th for a full bowel obstruction. We didn't know then that he wouldn't make it back home better and ready to continue being there for his family.

He had 2 insurance policies he was paying on. He knew one was for accidental death and dismemberment. He also had another through the Eagles Hall that he thought would cover his final finances. It turns out that was an accidental policy as well, and they declined the claim based on how he died.

My family and I are now scrambling to come up with the funds needed for his final expenses. Unfortunately, we are all in a hardship and are barely getting by.

This is the first time my family and I have ever done a GoFundMe. I've donated in the past when I could. If anyone has a little bit extra they can spare to help us out, we would be so thankful for your donation. Even sharing this would be a blessing.
