Cliff to keep running around!

I am here to ask for your help with Cliff!

Cliff is a pomeranian x jack Russell, who is turning 4y next month!

Cliff has epilepsy, but despite that, he lives a normal and happy life!

On the 28/12/24, Cliff stopped eating and started vomiting. We had to take him to the vet, which diagnosed him with an upset stomach and prescribed medication for it.

However, Cliff did not improve, and he had to return to the vet for further investigation. At this point, Cliff started having seizures and became dehydrated.

Cliff had then to be taken to intensive care, where they associated his condition with a possible issue with his brain. Cliff had to do an MRI and several other exams. All the exams done at that stage were clear and Cliff started to improve so the vet came to the conclusion that his upset stomach was due to one of his epilepsy medications becoming toxic as he was not eating.

Up to this point, we were able to use his pet insurance to cover 75% of his 15k bill. If you are not aware, pet insurance has a maximum they can cover in a year for a pet. We were only 7 days into the new year, and Cliff had already reached his total cover for the year, but the main thing is that he was fine! At least we thought so.

On Sunday, 12/01/25, Cliff stopped eating again and started to vomit, I had to then book him in with a vet and requested to have a abdominal ultrasound done as this was not performed prior, when he spent four days in intensive care.

Turns out that Cliff had something stuck in his stomach and will need surgery to remove it. Unfortunately, the insurance will not be able to help as he has reached his yearly total.

The surgery alone costs 20k. Thank God we were able to bring the cost down to 7k after a big argument with the institution. They were negligent, having not tested for this earlier, but moving on... Due to the previous amount that we have already spent, we are still struggling to cover costs and he does not have any other option, he needs to get the surgery or he will need to be put to sleep.

So any help is a big help!
