Cliche Junkie is the true story of the author's experience with depression, written in a voice-driven narrative in the spirit of Tobias Wolff's book "This Boy's Life" and Robert Pirsig's book "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance."
This book was written to shine a light on mental illness, to bring the conversation about depression and anxiety into the open, and to provide examples of ways we can support people with mental illnesses in our lives.
This story is important for society to hear, and as quickly as possible. Suicide rates are skyrocketing across western society. There is a responsibility for survivors to express what they've found worth living for.
Funds raised from this campaign will aid the process of self-publishing and promoting Cliche Junkie, first as an e-book and ultimately in print. This includes (but is not limited to) the cost of cover artwork, editing, promotions, and printing. The e-book will be released soon after the final edit and artwork are completed, ideally before summer. The print copy will either be print on demand or a limited run, depending on interest.
Donors of $5 or more will receive a code for a promotional copy of the e-book upon its release. Donors of $20 or more will also receive a signed print copy. Please provide email (and mailing address for print copy). *expect 6-12 months lead time for print copy
Thank you very much for your support.
