Hi everyone, I hope this message finds you and yours safe and healthy. I’ve created this go fund me on behalf of my cousin, Cleve “Alexie” Sutherland.
He’s always been a passionate cook and pastry chef and has been working in the tourism industry in the capacity of a pastry chef for almost 10 years now. However, over the years due to long hours standing and a few unfortunate falls that were left unattended, his right hip and knee have sustained injuries which have been causing him unimaginable pain whenever he has to move and even when he doesn’t.
Financially, things have been rough for my cousin and his family, and he has only been able to do x-rays and visit an orthopedic surgeon for consultation for his injuries. The diagnosis for his hip was Avascular necrosis and a degenerative disease of the right knee. The recommendation by the surgeon was full hip replacement surgery and potential surgery for his knee. Right now they’re trying to deal with his hip which is the more advanced of the two.
Despite Cleve’s health insurance it is a massive burden for them to afford, especially with this pandemic having caused further financial strain and his inability to work.
He can barely get on his feet most days and that has negatively impacted him both physically as well as mentally. We all would just like him to gain back a better quality of life, enjoy time with his family, and continue creating those amazing cakes and pastries.
As we continue to keep Cleve and his family in our thoughts and prayers, any donation is a massive step in the right direction as all funds will be sent directly to him and his family. I hope you all take care and continue to keep the Sutherland family in your prayers.
