Cleo's Knee Surgery!
Donation protected
Hey y'all,
As many of you know, in 2020, I adopted my sweet little bulldog mix, Cleo, from the SPCA! I adopted her during a particularly tough time in my life, the COVID-19 pandemic had just started, and my sister had just passed away after a swift 5-year battle with ALS. Cleo has brought so much joy to my life, and I consider her family. For this reason, I am dedicated to helping her live a quality life.
When I adopted her, she had low-grade luxating patella in both knees (this means her knee caps slip out of place, causing alignment issues throughout and adding excessive stress to her knees). Despite therapeutic intervention, she ended up tearing both CCLs. For several months, her mobility was limited, and she struggled to make it up and down the stairs in our apartment complex.
We've undergone two TPLO/MPL correction surgeries this year; her right leg was in January, and her left in March to 1) fix the torn ACL and 2) adjust the position of the kneecaps. Unfortunately, despite the TPLO surgeries healing well, both kneecaps ended up re-luxating.
I have already spent several thousands of dollars of my own money and am now asking for help to get her through the final finish line. Her vet surgeon feels confident that surgically adjusting her kneecaps once more, this time without the added complications of having to heal from the TPLO surgery, will get her to a place where she can walk comfortably.
Thank you in advance for any funds you're able to contribute!
With love,
Amy & Cleo
