Come on Australia - Let’s Raise $1 Million for Our Scientists!
$1,000,000 to fund life-saving Australian science - every dollar counts!

Looking into the mirror, her golden hair piled limply at her feet on the bathroom floor, Angie Cleone learned something about herself.

Her fight against cancer had reached a defining moment, and a line had been drawn. Head now bare, her hair removed by her own power, she knew it was time to roar back at the disease that strikes fear and despair into the hearts of so many...

But Angie’s fight had begun many years earlier. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at just thirty-five. She fought bravely for ten years, and during her final months, Angie left her job to care for her full-time.

Shortly after her mother passed away, Angie travelled overseas. What was meant to be a short trip turned into ten years living and working across Europe and the United States.

But she never forgot the disease that had taken her mother. Angie stayed vigilant with regular medical check-ups and mammograms.

Then, in February 2006, a biopsy revealed a malignant tumour.

“Angie, you have breast cancer.”

Five words that changed everything. Surgery removed the tumour, but the fight was far from over. Eight months of chemotherapy followed, along with six weeks of radiotherapy.

It was shortly after beginning chemotherapy that Angie stood in front of the mirror and made a powerful decision - she shaved her own head. Cancer would not take her power away.

Throughout treatment, she continued working, exercising, and living life on her own terms. And she made a promise: she would dedicate her life to helping find cures.

Today, Angie is cancer-free - but the fight is far from over. She founded the For A Cure Foundation to support scientists researching breakthrough treatments including stem cell therapies, gene therapy, and longevity research. These fields hold enormous promise for treating cancer and many other diseases - but scientists need funding.
