Cleo the Rescue Kitty Needs Surgery ASAP
Donation protected
On Wednesday, February 3rd our next-door neighbor knocked on our door, asked if we had a cat, and that he trapped a cat that has been pooping all over his furniture and yard. He said there was clearly something wrong, and that he was going to dump the cat at the riverbed.
I could not bear to let that happen, so I rushed over to find a tiny black female kitty, meowing for help. We rushed to Garden Grove Dog and Cat Hospital, and an exam showed Cleo had a three-inch prolapsed rectum. Unless she has surgery immediately, the prognosis is not good. My heart was broken and I didn't know how I could help Cleo because I could not bear to put her down. Like many others, COVID-19 has negatively impacted my family’s financial state.

A family friend was able to reduce the prolapse, put in a modified purse-string suture, and give Cleo some subcutaneous fluids. Laura, with FOCHP, stepped in and made sure Cleo was comfortable and had everything needed, including a bed, blanket, crate food bowls, poop scooper, and toys. Pet SAV in Orange also assisted by donating and delivered litter, food, milk, and the vital necessities for Cleo. SpoofDawg donated CBD for Kitty, and I am sure this is what is keeping Cleo comfortable and calm. Saying thank you to these organizations would be an understatement.

Later that week, Cleo's prolapse came back out while pooping. She was so sad, and you could tell there was pain. I was able to borrow enough funds to cover the surgery, and the surgery went well. Cleo can poop now with some difficulty; this seems to make her very uncomfortable and makes a giant mess. According to Garden Grove Pet Hospital, Cleo will need a more permanent solution and another surgery, or she will continue to prolapse.
I have had many cats over the years, but this sweet little Cleo has really stolen my heart. She rolls on her back and likes her tummy scratched, loves to purr, and loves to be held. Cleo is like a sponge: she soaks up all the love. She will even start to knead her paws the moment she is set on a blanket.

Cleo seems to be so grateful and happy - I am so glad we were able to help her. Now we need your help to help her some more. Thank you for supporting Cleo!
