Cleo's PRAA Surgery Fund

Don protégé
Hi! My name is Cleo. I'm three months old, half pit bull, half boxer, and 100% adorable. I was born in California to a loving momma and five litter mates and transferred up here to a shelter in Oregon. There, my owners Grace and Ryan quickly realized I was the cutest pup in the litter and brought me to my new home where I can poop and pee literally wherever and whenever I want!

Besides sleeping, my favorite activity is EATING!! Man, do I love food! The problem is that I've always had a hard time keeping it down. Ryan and Grace went through lots of different kinds of food, but it would always come back up. Then yesterday when we visited my vet, she told me that I'm a very special girl!

She said I have a condition called Persistent Right Aortic Arch. That means I have leftover fibers from when I was a fetus which are acting like a rubber band around my esophagus. It's the worst because I can't eat as much as I need to grow big and strong. In fact, when I went in to get spayed, my owners learned that my litter mates are around 10lbs heavier than I am! That's over twice my weight!

The surgery I need is expensive and invasive, but the prognosis is good: the vast majority of dogs who have the surgery at my age go on to lead healthy and happy lives! You can help me and my weird but loving owners pay for this necessary surgery. Even $20 will help me keep my food down so I can get big and strong!

Love,

Cleo, Grace, and Ryan
