Dear Clemson Family,
Throughout our time as a club, the Men’s Lacrosse Team has consistently aimed to offer a high-quality experience at an affordable price for our players. This commitment remains a cornerstone of our program. However, in recent seasons, our team, along with many other clubs at Clemson, has faced a decrease in institutional support.
We have experienced a rapid reduction in funding from the Student Funding Board, leading to a significant decrease of $10,000 in funding for 2023-2024 compared to previous seasons. Additionally, Clemson's policy now requires clubs to rent Clemson facilities for games and events, a change that came with little warning and has placed a substantial financial burden on us. Thousands of dollars that our club has relied on to support our program have been stripped away in just two seasons, significantly impacting our ability to maintain the same level of experience while keeping dues affordable.
Despite these challenges, the Clemson Men’s Lacrosse Club has remained a respected member of the MCLA. We have worked hard to build upon a brand-new coaching staff and an entirely new team, and the 2024 season has been filled with progress. This progress has led to an ALC playoff berth and national recognition week after week. We aim to continue building on this success in the coming weeks as we strive for a conference title. However, to achieve this, our club needs your support.
The Clemson Lacrosse Family has been the backbone of our program for decades, providing these young men with the opportunity to play the sport they love while earning a top-rated education. We are committed to working tirelessly to regain University support to alleviate the burden placed on parents. However, today we humbly ask for your support in any way you can offer.
Thank you for your consideration and support of our family, the Clemson Men’s Lacrosse Club.
