Dear Dad,
For the moments you picked us up on weekends, to the long rides across from Leeward to Windward. To holding our breathe though the Pali tunnel, to looking at the waterfalls after we got though. For the unknown days that you had planned, to bringing us home safe and sound. For the moments of watching a movie with you, to walking around the mall not knowing what to do. To stopping at a store that you wanted to check out, to asking us if we seen anything we liked. To trying to keep up with you because you walked so fast, to waiting for us to catch up. For taking us the see grandma Lau, grandpa & grandma's, to taking us out to restaurants with the whole family...
We want to say just to say thank you...
Love,
Your Sons
Our Dad, Clement-Aleka Gorai, loved running, hiking, and climbing. He loved the outdoors, and he loved the islands of Hawai'i. He loved being Hawaiian and he embraced that every day. His goal was to be one of the first Hawaiians to climb all summits. He climb 26 summits.
Dad was also involved in many clubs and organizations, noticeably HURT 100- Hawaiian Ultra Running Team's. He helped with his community clearing paths for runners, supporting them, and guiding them through trails. Our dad has also traveled world, traveling to Russia, London, and South Africa, climbing summits that only a small percentage of people could do. Dad achieved so many great things during his life, one of this was reach Aconcagua summit in Argentina. He started his journey on February 1, 2020.
On Feb 26, 2020 our dad passed during a summit tour climb in Argentina, climbing one of the most challenging mountain in the world, Aconcagua, which levels up to 22,841 ft high. During his climb he felt ill and had to be rushed to the hospital. Doctors tried to find the cause of his illness. Unfortunately, our Dad made the decision to join God in Heaven. Dad reached 19,700ft on Aconcagua that day.
He had such an impact to many in his community and his Ohana. Dad lived a happy life, and enjoyed what he loved to do. My family, my brother and I would like to thank each and everyone of you for supporting us during these difficult times.
This gofundme will go to any medical, travel expanses, and bringing our Dad home. Any monetary donation will be greatly appreciated. And if you want to share this gofundme please fill free to do so.
Mahalo, God Bless, and may God watch over you and your Ohana.
