Clearstream Fund Centre AG Walks More Than 360 km for Children with Rare Diseases in Switzerland
At Clearstream Fund Centre AG, commitment goes beyond business. This year, six colleagues in Switzerland will walk together on the 29th of May 2026 for a shared purpose: as a unified team, they will complete a 360-kilometer walk around the Lake of Zurich in a 12-hour continuous effort. Each team member will walk approximately 65 kilometers, side by side with their colleagues, to reach our collective goal of 360 kilometers. Together, we will support children living with rare diseases and help raise much needed funds for their care, research and support networks. Six people. One mission. 360 kilometers of solidarity. Donation will be immediately directed to the "Förderverein Für Kinder Mit Seltenen Krankheiten” (https://www.kmsk.ch/en)
What began as a simple idea quickly became a powerful collective journey—driven by empathy, teamwork and the belief that every step can make a difference.
Why We Walk
Rare diseases affect thousands of children in Switzerland. While each condition may be uncommon, together they impact many families who face uncertainty, complex treatments and limited resources. The burden is high, uncertainty is ever-present – and support is often insufficient. For these children and their loved ones, awareness and funding are crucial.
Parents of children with rare diseases are under enormous psychological pressure. A recent survey shows that 78% of affected families rate their current psychological burden as medium to high. Yet although 80% of parents know where to turn for psychological support, only one quarter actually seek psychological counseling. Notably, 72% of respondents reported that doctors do not actively address their mental health, and only 13% rated communication with medical professionals on this topic as very good, while nearly half found it insufficient.
This Fundraising Campaign Was Created To
- Raise funds to support children and families affected by rare diseases – including financial help for aids, mobility aids or certain therapies that are neither covered by disability insurance nor health insurance.
- Increase awareness of the challenges they face every day – including the often-overlooked emotional burden on healthy siblings, who frequently step back and subordinate their own needs and wishes to the health status of their ill sibling
- Demonstrate Clearstream Fund Centre AG's commitment to social responsibility and community engagement – by creating moments of connection where families see they are not alone and learn that other families face similar challenges

What Your Donation Will Enable
For these three wonderful families in the pictures provided, caring for a child with a rare disease is a daily act of love. But when essential therapies and equipment aren't covered by insurance, even simple things like getting from A to B can become an insurmountable hurdle.
The private costs for these families can easily climb into the tens of thousands, creating an immense financial burden. Many families face similar challenges, whether it's purchasing specialized mobility aids (such as therapeutic bikes that can cost over CHF 12,000), funding critical therapy sessions, or covering other equipment that insurance refuses to cover.
Your donation will be divided equally among these three families, helping them access the tools and support they desperately need. You can help purchase essential equipment, fund critical therapy sessions, and ease the daily financial strain that weighs on these households.
Every kilometer walked symbolizes solidarity with children who must face challenges far greater than distance alone. Join us in strengthening these families. Your support will lift a heavy weight and bring a little more ease and joy into their lives. Thank you for being their lifeline.
