“I am overwhelmed with all of the support and excitement over the #clearthelists campaign. We reached our initial Go Fund Me goal quicker than we ever could have imagined and we are asking people to please continue to support this campaign. We are asking everyone to please continue to spread the news and let’s clear these lists!” -- Casey Donahew
The problem with the lack of supplies being provided in our school class rooms is a problem bigger than you and me. Not enough teachers have the supplies they need, and they shouldn't have to buy those on their own, so let's clear out their Amazon wish lists! I heard about this from @support_a_teach on Twitter and I want to make sure that as many teachers as possible can go into the school year with a fully-stocked classroom without breaking their own bank account. Let's work together to raise money to #clearthelists for these amazing teachers! Education is the foundation to everything!
If you would like your Amazon wish list to be considered, please:
- Only send your list via Twitter and/or to the email firstname.lastname@example.org - Keep your list to $300 maximum so we can help more teachers - Only include educational items. No lap tops, coffee machine, gift cards etc - Add your name, the grade you teach, and the name of your school to the email. We are verifying teachers before clearing your list! - Make sure there is a shipping address linked to your list
We'll clear as many of them as we can! Here are other ways to help:
- Donate to this campaign - Share with your friends and family to get the word out and raise more donations - use the hashtags #clearthelist and #clearthelists - Challenge celebrities to donate and share too! We've had some very generous donations from people like Jeffree Star and Khloe Kardashian that are already making a huge difference for so many teachers.
I'm withdrawing this money to my personal bank account and then turning right around and using it to make all the Amazon purchases. I'll post some screenshots of those transactions soon.
And, if you're a teacher who has had your list cleared, we'd LOVE to see some pictures of your classroom. Please post them with a comment below so everyone can see!
