Our grandfather, Mabior Alier Bul Anyang, has always lived a life of service and sacrifice. As a young man, he was among the first water engineers in Southern Sudan. In a time of war and suffering, God used him to bring life through water. He helped build hundreds of groundwater wells, serving communities that had been displaced, forgotten, and broken. During the Civil War, when fear caused many to flee, my grandfather chose compassion. He followed the paths where people escaped, seeking out families in need and serving anyone he found along the way. He lived his life as a civil servant, a humanitarian, and a man guided by faith. To us, he is a loving father, grandfather, and a quiet example of Christ-like service.

In November 2025, our grandfather suffered a massive stroke that left half of his body paralyzed. He was admitted to The Nairobi Hospital, where, by God’s grace, he made meaningful recovery with medical care and physical therapy.

Our family does not have medical insurance, so at the time, all expenses had to be paid out of pocket. This was a heavy burden, but through the generosity of friends and our church family, God provided, and we were able to pay the full hospital bill so he could return home and continue his recovery.

In January 2026, while healing at home, his strength declined. He stopped eating and drinking well, leading to severe dehydration and confusion. He was rushed back to the hospital, where he required intubation and mechanical ventilation. Since then, he has developed aspiration pneumonia and has suffered other severe medical complications like sepsis and severe blood loss. Despite aggressive treatment, his condition continues to decrease.

After many heartfelt discussions with his medical team, my grandfather is now receiving palliative and hospice-focused care. Our prayer is to bring him home, where he can be surrounded by family, prayer, and peace. However, before any transfer or discharge can happen, the hospital requires that the outstanding medical bill be paid in full. We have explored every option for assistance. Unfortunately, we were informed that no financial aid or social support programs are available to help with these costs.

We are humbly asking for your help, whether through donations, prayers, or sharing this story, so we can clear our grandfather’s hospital bill and bring him home so he may experience comfort, peace, and love surrounded by family.
