When our frontline workers are trying to help someone with hearing loss basic communication can be very difficult.
This is because even those with a mild hearing loss depend on visual cues, like watching someone’s lips move, to help understand speech.
The purpose of this campaign is to donate clear masks to our frontline workers.
Dave, owner of Alban Ltd., has agreed to help make masks with a clear window for those on the front lines. 100% of your donation will help supply masks with windows to nurses, physicians, and local emergency personnel in Oshkosh. $1,500 will purchase roughly 150 masks. Dave has already donated 50 masks (pictured above) and we are on a mission to get more masks in the hands of those who need them!
As an audiologist at Ear Nose and Throat Specialists of Wisconsin I see first hand how many people in our community struggle with hearing loss.
These masks will help those in Oshkosh with hearing loss as well as our frontline workers so they can better communicate with those they are trying to help!
