Clean Water Project for Siekopai Villages in Ecuador-Amazon
Donation protected
The Siekopai people, indigenous to the Ecuadorian Amazon, have lived in harmony with nature for centuries. However, they now face significant challenges in accessing clean, safe water, a resource essential not only for their health but also for their spiritual practices and cultural identity. Without clean water, their way of life and ability to thrive as a community are at risk. Phase 1 is planned for summer of 2025 and Phase 2 (deep water well is planned for 2026).
The Siekopai’s rivers have been severely contaminated by the expansion of palm monoculture and the presence of oil companies, leading to deforestation and biodiversity loss. This has reduced access to traditional food sources, causing malnutrition, particularly among children.

Currently, their primary source of water is a small, muddy stream deep in the jungle. As seen in the image, a Siekopai community member collects water in large plastic jugs, but the environment around the stream is filled with soil and debris, making the water unsafe for consumption. This untreated water, vital for their survival, is also a major health risk.
The elders of the Siekopai community walk long distances, often carrying heavy loads of water back to their homes.
This is their reality—a fragile water source in the midst of the Amazon rainforest, far from the clean, safe drinking water they desperately need.
By replacing this inadequate water source with proper filtration systems, we can ensure the Siekopai have access to safe, clean water for their community and homes.
We are raising $12,500 to change this reality and bring clean, safe water to the Siekopai village. With your support, we will
-Install water storage tanks and a rainwater collection system with a 5,000L capacity.
- Install state-of-the art water filters for clean drinking water
- Mapping of the village infrastructure and integration with solar
- Watershed testing and pilot for scalability
The healing center is a sacred space where the community gathers for ceremonies, healing, and connection. By providing three filters for this center and two houses, we are ensuring access to clean water that will preserve their way of life.
The four phase filters we will provide for the center and two houses, will remove metals, chemicals, sediment and bacteria such as E-coli.
In this first phase we also plan to help install a rainwater catchment tank, ensuring access to clean water that will preserve their way of life & health for their elders, children and generations to come.
Your contribution will go toward purchasing and installing these filters and tanks, as well as ensuring proper maintenance and training for the community. Every donation helps us get closer to our goal of providing the Siekopai with the clean water they deserve.
This campaign is more than a project to bring water—it is a mission to protect the legacy of the Siekopai people. Every donation directly contributes to preserving a way of life that is on the verge of disappearing.
Join us in making a tangible impact. Together, we can uplift the Siekopai people and ensure they have the resources they need to not only survive but thrive and ensure a healthier future for generations to come.
Thank you for your support, Water is Life!!!
