Clean Laundry for Dogs Who Deserve It!

For the past few months I've been volunteering at The Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused solely on rescuing abused and neglected animals. So, not your average stray (although we take those in, too), but rather,  survivors of the Asian dog meat trade (where they use torture chambers and cruel and barbaric methods to kill dogs because they believe it makes the meat taste better), dogs that have been beaten, kicked, shot, run over, used for gang initiations, etc. Serving these animals has been some of the most powerful and rewarding work I've ever done in my life.

↑ Typical (and very tame) scene in Asian the dog meat trade from which we regularly rescue dogs.

We have a crucial problem at the rescue right now that we need to ask for outside financial help to solve.

In a small rescue with 40 dogs at all times, we produce a lot of laundry. Like, A LOT. We're talking, obscene amounts. It takes hundreds of blankets, towels and dog beds each week to keep everyone happy, clean and comfortable. We've been struggling with a donated washing machine and dryer that are not equipped for the volume of laundry we need to do to keep the rescue in working order (running for 12 hours/day). The machines break regularly and we have been forced to take laundry to a local laundromat which is not at all sustainable for us financially.

↑ This is only ONE day's worth of laundry piled up!!! We cannot keep up.

↑ Trying to fit a few day's worth of laundry into a car to get to the laundromat!

We need a new washer and dryer stat! I've found a wonderful local appliance store,  Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center, who is willing to give us a discount on a high quality, durable set of machines that is suited for our unique needs. It's a significant expense for us and that's where you come in. The grand total for both machines is $1775.

↑ We use a lot of blankets around here to keep pups like Sterling cozy!

I, all of the staff and volunteers that are overwhelmed with dirty laundry pilling up everywhere, and each and every one of the dogs at Animal Hope and Wellness would be so, so grateful for any money you'd be willing put toward this.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
