A little over a year ago I took a leap of faith and started a professional dance company, Claytor Company. The two pieces we premiered last year at the Dance Institute of Washington were sections 1 and 4 of an larger body of work, Together/Alone. The 4 sections that make up this work speak to some of the real and very raw aspects of the human condition; loss, love, injustice, racism, grief and healing. With the help of friends and family, we were able to raise the funds needed to bring two sections to life, Section 1: I’m Sorry For Your Loss and Section 4: A Place of Healing. And now, we need your help to complete sections 2 & 3 of this powerful work so we can share it with the world.
This far, our work has been very well received. We’ve seen great reviews about how our work has taken people on a journey through their own emotions and experiences with loss and grief and has encouraged them to confront the feelings they’ve buried down deep, to address them and to find their pathway to healing. In addition, we’ve been invited to share the two existing pieces in Allentown, PA later this Fall in a multimedia concert.
Arts are so vital to the health and wellbeing our society and our communities and we humbly seek your support in helping Claytor Company continue to thrive. flourish and create work that harnesses the transformative power of the arts to make a positive impact and change in the world.
