Clayton's Climb to Recovery
Hello, I'm Sabrina Gentner, "Ms. Gentner", writing on behalf of Clayton's family.
Clayton. Born and raised in Lake Tahoe. Like many kids in our Village, Clayton loves to ride his bike. On Friday, July 2nd, Clayton was riding his bike to the lake to swim with friends when he was struck by a car. The driver stopped, approached Clayton to say he didn't have his phone, that he would return. He didn't. He left Clayton bleeding on a street corner and didn't return. Kind first responders called an ambulance. Life 360 alerted the ambulance but Clayton declined thinking his mom would drive him to our hospital to save ambulance costs. Injuries
were too significant, so he was routed to Renown Children's Hospital.
18 days in the hospital, two major surgeries— over 50 stiches, broken tibia, compound fibula fracture and dislocated heal with an upcoming skin graft, Clayton is challenged with fighting infection for the significant wounds incurred by a hit and run driver.
Clayton is a talented golfer who earned MVP at his high school and his dreams are on hold. He remains optimistic despite some emotional breakdowns. His mother is the sole source of income and has missed work to tend to her son’s needs and will need legal assistance.
Your donation supports the family as a gift toward reclaiming the quality of life Clayton once enjoyed—riding his bike and aspiring to play
professional golf.
Your donation funds are directly affiliated with only Clayton's mother.
