I am a Canadian born immigration prisoner who is being held captive in the Adelanto ICE Detention facility in the Mohave Desert in Southern California. I have been living in the U.S for over 23 years, 20 of which were off grid. In October of 2022 circumstances forced me to come back on-grid, since then I have been regularly reporting to scheduled meetings with immigration authorities with the belief I was on the path towards attaining sanctioned and legitimate residency.

After 3 years of regular check-ins, I was suddenly and without warning, abruptly ripped away from my life on October 9th, 2025.

Since then I have been incarcerated in conditions that by Western standards are considered inhumane. The immigration courts in this privately-run, for-profit facility have conducted themselves in a manner that is akin to frontier style justice which shows no respect for due-process.

I have no criminal record/history and been imprisoned for over 6 months with no clear end in sight. I do now have a strong chance of the higher courts releasing me soon. I will greatly need funds for seven months of rent owed to my landlord (who has been kind enough to not throw my life-possessions and cats out into the streets). I am needing to repay those who have been paying my storage facility fees. I will also have Vet bills for long overdue visits that my cats will need. Upcoming lawyer fees will soon be required to fight my case. Finally, I’ll be needing funds for whatever living arrangements that will be congenial with whatever is the Court’s final Ruling.
