*** UPDATE ***
Dear Friends & Family,
We've reached and even surpassed our goal!! Thank you so much to all the donors for their generosity and kind messages. My name is Chantel and I'm Clayton's Aunt. I live here in Phoenix, Arizona and have been managing the fundraiser to help my sister, Nicolle.
Now that we've reached our goal, here's how we plan to proceed:
The funds will be transferred to Clayton's mother, Nicolle. She'll use the funds for the funeral service and burial costs of her beloved Clayton. Because of the generosity of Clayton's friends and the friends of his family, he can be laid to rest in a beautiful and peaceful place where we can all go to visit him.
At some point, hopefully in the near future, we intend to have a celebration of life for Clayton. One of the hardest parts of this tragedy is that we've been unable to be with each other in person to grieve.
I can't express how inspired I've been to see the outpouring of love and generosity. You guys have been amazing and it means so much to our entire family. Thank you again for your help and your kindness from the bottom of my heart ❤️.
With Love,
Chantel
**Original Post***
With broken hearts we share the passing of our beloved, Clayton Colosimo, 15. Clayton was a beautiful, loving and highly intelligent young man. He was a son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and true friend to so many.
We, as a family, are crushed by his unexpected and far too early passing.
Clayton showed such bravery throughout his painful, days-long journey to the other side. He stayed a few days extra on life support in order to donate his heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys so that four other people had the chance to survive.
He inspired his friends and family with his final gifts, but did not surprise them. That's just who he was.
Our family is just one out of many around the world who are struggling to navigate the complicated path of losing a loved one in the midst of a global public health crisis. Most of us were unable to sit with him in the hospital during his fight or even allowed to come and say goodbye to him when the unimaginable truth was realized that he was not going to make it.
We are hoping to raise some funds to help ease the burden on Clayton's mom and brothers as they move forward after Clayton's untimely passing .
We are reaching out only to those of you who have the means to help.
These are really tough times for everyone and we completely understand that.
But if you can help, please do.
Gratefully,
Clatie Bug's Family
