Clay Leggett’s fight against cancer

Donation protected
You can't hear "Clay Leggett" without thinking of a caring and hard working man. He’s seen and been through a lot in his 43 years. At 18 months old, he was diagnosed with type one diabetes. At 18, had his first child & his second child at 24. At 31, lost his mom to cancer. At 40, was diagnosed with an immunodeficiency disorder. And now, at 43, is battling cancer twice in six months.

In September 2023 Clay and his doctors (and one very on top of it dentist) found a cancerous lump in his cheek. At the end of September Clay had a very intense surgery to remove the tumor and reconstruct the inside of his cheek. This surgery required most of the tissue, skin, and nerves from his inner forearm to be grafted inside his cheek. This was a hard surgery and recovery, but Clay didn't get long to rest before he started chemo and radiation.

Clay finished his chemo and radiation just before New Year’s 2024, and we all had a lot to look forward to in the new year. A healthy Clay, and a healthy year. Unfortunately, this is not how the year has gone. In March, Clay and his family were told the cancer had spread. It is now in his face, neck, shoulders, lungs, spine, ribs, sternum, skull and his hips.

This was devastating news, less than six months since finding the original tumor, it had gotten so much worse. But Clay, ever the optimist, has not given up or let it get him down. He will now be undergoing more intensive chemo and immunotherapy.

If you know Clay, you know his love for He-man, and Rambo, Garth Brooks, and Nascar. But most of all, Clay is known for being a loving father, husband, brother, son, and friend. Clay really would be the first one to come help you if you needed it, and now he needs a little help from us.

Clay's family is organizing this fund to help ease the financial burden so he and his family can focus on recovery.

If you have the ability please consider donating to the Leggett family during this difficult time.
