Meet Rosie —a pocket-sized lobster with a very big dream: to get home to the East Coast.

Rosie went on an adventure and ended up far from the ocean, landlocked on the Prairies. Thankfully, she’s found a place to belong at Harvest Community Inc. until she returns home. While she's excited to learn about farm life in Saskatchewan for the next few months, she's looking forward to returning home, and sharing the adventure with her friends from the farm!

This summer, Rosie will be traveling alongside 14 adventurous people from Harvest Community Inc.'s Day Program on a journey from the Prairies to the East Coast—visiting iconic Canadian places like Peggy’s Cove, where she hopes to finally feel the salty breeze and say, “I’m home.”

But Rosie’s adventure is about more than miles traveled.

Why Rosie’s Journey Matters

Rosie is the official (and very small) mascot for Harvest Community Inc.’s 50th anniversary trip to the East Coast. For 50 years, Harvest Community Inc. has been walking alongside individuals experiencing disability and other barriers—supporting meaningful work, community connection, and a sense of belonging. We celebrate people for who they are—their diverse abilities, strengths, creativity, and the unique ways each person contributes to the team.

At Harvest, meaningful work matters. Our team plays an active role in serving the wider community across Saskatchewan by:

  • Engaging in light-industrial production which is delivered to local businesses and organizations
  • Promoting sustainability through repurposing materials used in production such as rags
  • Sharing fresh garden produce
  • And so much more!

The same things Rosie is searching for—home, connection, and purpose—are the very things Harvest works to build every day.

The Mission

We are raising $5,000 to support this milestone journey and the ongoing work of Harvest Community Inc. Every donation helps:

  • Make this commemorative trip possible
  • Support additional celebrations with our community at home
  • Celebrate 50 years of impact while investing in the next 50
  • Funds raised beyond our goal will go towards building a year-round greenhouse

Rosie may be small, but her quest represents something big: what’s possible when a community comes together.

Follow the Adventure

Rosie will document her travels—from prepping to head home from the Prairies to ocean-side triumph—on Instagram. Expect photos, videos, and updates from a lobster who has opinions about air transportation, coffee breaks, and coastal fog.

Watch for Rosie’s big “homecoming” moment at the ocean in August 2026.

Join the Quest

Whether you give $10 or $1,000, you’re helping Rosie get home with her team of travellers—and helping Harvest continue building places where people truly belong.

Thank you for being part of Rosie’s (and our) East Coast Adventure.

Cheers,

Shelby Scarrott (Program Manager) on behalf of Harvest Community Inc.
