Claudia & her fam while she battles Valley Fever

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Priscilla, and this is my first attempt to start a go fundme, and I'm not going to lie ... I wish shouldn't have to. I wish that our healthcare and government system was better, but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and ask for help. I will also tell you why I say this so keep reading!

My auntie, Claudia Estupinan age 38 is a first-generation college grad who studied at the University of Berkley where she graduated with Honors and went on to become a Civil Engineer. My auntie has dedicated her entire life to her family and her personal growth, she became a homeowner at a young age and has always helped her parents and family through any financial hardships.

Now we must ask for you to help us help her. Claudia has been out of work for over a month due to a misdiagnosed pneumonia. She was later hospitalized due to respiratory failure and hypoxia (low levels of oxygen in your body tissues) and was diagnosed with Coccidioidomycosis ( aka Valley Fever). This deadly fungus attacks the lungs and in the case of Claudia, it has caused a very stubborn pneumonia affecting her oxygen levels a lot, which has required very strong and continuous intravenous medications.

While hospitalized she was also affected by another bacteria and it has hindered any progress. Currently, she is dependent on oxygen for breathing while battling Valley Fever and bacterial infection. All this has caused her potassium and magnesium levels to drop which can harm her heart, and also requires her to remain hospitalized for monitoring . My auntie faces a very long recovery, but we are hoping that there will a light at the end of this tunnel soon.

Claudia had her first baby 6 months ago and is the ONLY provider for her family. I mention at the beginning how our government has failed her and it has. Her husband is unable to work or help financially, as he is still waiting for a work visa for over 1 year. Lawyers are not able to help speed the process, they have followed all the steps to become a family and our immigration system has not helped. Unfortunately, she needed to use her life savings towards helping her family and for maternal leave!

All money donated will help withstand her family and go towards baby formula, diapers, food, and paying bills while she is out of commission, and pay the hospital stay bills. Anything helps and goes a long way.
