Claudia Guzman Points Memorial Fund

Claudia Guzman Points was an incredible mother, friend, cousin, and Girl Scout troop leader.
In January, Claudia was diagnosed with Stage 3B Lung Cancer, which quickly spread through her body and to her brain resulting in a Stage 4 Lung Cancer diagnosis. She never complained and tried her best to keep up with being a mother, her job, and continuing being a marvelous Girl Scout troop leader. Sadly, Claudia suffered a stroke on Mother’s Day and was promptly put in hospice care. She passed in her sleep on Monday, May 17th, 2021.
Claudia will forever be loved and missed. She leaves behind her husband, John, and her 11-year-old daughter, Lizzy. John sacrificed himself to care for Lizzy by being a stay at home dad while Claudia supported the family with her demanding career. John is currently tasked with restarting his career and grieving his wife’s passing while simultaneously caring for Lizzy and Claudia’s elderly mother. The goal of this memorial fund is to support Claudia’s family with hospital and hospice care bills and funeral expenses.

This fundraiser is being led by Isabella Alveal, Claudia's goddaughter/niece and John's niece. All funds raised will be deposited into a stand alone bank account for transparency purposes and will be managed by Isabella Alveal on behalf of and in agreement with John Points. The fund will be used to pay for Claudia's funeral services such as the wake and service. Remaining funds will be used to pay for Claudia's medical bills as they pertain to her radiation, chemotherapy, surgery, and hospice bills. Any remaining funds will be utilized as needed Lizzy's college fund or other outstanding debts.

En Enero, Claudia fue diagnosticada con cáncer de pulmón en etapa 3B, que se esparcio rápidamente por su cuerpo y su cerebro, lo que resultó en un diagnóstico de cáncer de pulmón en etapa 4. Ella nunca se quejó e hizo todo el esfuerzo posible por seguir siendo una madre, cumplir con su trabajo, y continuar siendo una maravillosa líder de una tropa de Girl Scouts. Lamentablemente, Claudia sufrió un derrame cerebral el Día de la Madre y fue internada de inmediato en un centro de cuidados intensivo. Claudia nos dejo en sus sueños el lunes 17 de Mayo del 2021.

Actualmente, John tiene la tarea de reiniciar su carrera para sostener economicamente su hogar el cual es su hija y la madre (85 años) de Claudia. Lamentablemente, John no solo perdio el amor de su vida pero tambien quedo financieramente endeudado con los altos costos medicos, de hospital cuidados intensivos, y gastos funerarios. El objetivo de este fondo conmemorativo es apoyar a John y familia poder pagar estos costos.
