Purry Family Aunt & Niece Double Funeral Fund

This grieving South Carolina family is in need of support in paying for the unexpected double funeral expenses for burying their sister Claudette Purry and niece Rebecca Purry. They were tragically shot and killed by an abusive ex-boyfriend.
Rebecca Purry, 28 and a mother of three, had the courage to leave an abusive relationship, move back to her hometown Pickens, SC, and in with her aunt Claudette, 54, for safety. After vehemently attempting to block her ex-boyfriend's continual harassment; which turned into threats; she reported her concerns to the local police. In the middle of the night on Wed., April 17, he showed up at Claudette’s home demanding that Rebecca return with him, but she refused. When her aunt intervened to prevent him from forcibly taking her, he heinously shot her three times. He then abducted Rebecca and kept her at large for four days while evading police. On Saturday, April 20th he shot and killed Rebecca and then himself.
This horrific incident has left this family distraught and a community dismayed as Rebecca and Claudette were both known for being extremely kind, quiet and caring individuals who very much kept to themselves.
Any funds raised will be used to help relieve the financial burden around this unexpected dual funeral for putting Rebecca and Claudette properly to rest. Funds raised above those costs will be placed in an education trust for Rebecca’s three young children. Anything that you can do to offset the costs for this family during this profoundly devastating time will be tremendously appreciated.
A vigil was held on April 22 and funeral services will be held during the last week of April.
