We are raising funds to help cover the hospital expenses incurred after a tragic accident involving our dear friend, Claude Chenette.

Claude, 54 years old, and a long time resident of Puerto Vallarta, suffered a devastating fall of approximately three meters onto a concrete surface, resulting in severe head trauma, multiple broken bones and ribs, and serious internal injuries. Everything possible was done to save his life. Claude spent four days in the ICU at Vallarta Medical Center Hospital, intubated and under intensive care; after numerous tests and evaluations, it sadly became clear that recovery was not possible.

In order to prevent further financial burden and to allow Claude to pass peacefully and without pain, the difficult decision was made to transfer him to the public hospital, Hospital Regional, where he is now receiving palliative care.

The medical costs accumulated during this time are substantial. The final hospital bill from Vallarta Medical Center Hospital amounts to 638,000 pesos ($ 49,198.73 Canadian Dollars), an overwhelming expense that Claude’s husband, Lucas, is now facing while also coping with profound grief and loss.

The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward paying these hospital expenses, helping to ease at least one burden during an incredibly painful and difficult period.
