Known as the MAN IN BLACK across Prince Edward Island, inspired by Johnny Cash, Claude Simpson has traveled the Maritimes performing tributes to the "original" country rock star. In addition, he has helped over 30 community fundraisers in recent years and is the first to lend a hand to those in need.
He now needs your help.
Claude Simpson is facing aggressive liver cancer and can no longer enjoy many of the things that would have kept him going. From woodcarving, gardening, singing, playing guitar, to entertaining, the many things that would typically lift his spirits are not possible while suffering from such a severe illness.
I ask for the community he has poured his heart into to return the favor.
In the photos, you can see Claude with my mother, Susan. They met eight years ago, married for seven, and found one another after years of caring for their passed sick spouses. What they were able to find in each other is inspiring, and we are heartbroken at what they now face.
From October to February, you can see how cancer has taken its toll, not only physically but mentally as well.
I call to those of you who have known Claude and Susan and their journey, those who have lost loved ones in the past to this devastating disease, or who would like to help cover medical and funeral expenses in any way you can. Any assistance goes a long way.
Unfortunately, a liver transplant is not possible, and any other options that may be available must be approached in the next few months.
Please donate to this Go Fund Me Page as you can. Monies raised will go towards medical and funeral expenses and equipment as required. Any amount would be deeply appreciated. If you’d like to send him your well-wishes, you can address it to:
