Clatterbridge Hospital Thankyou Fundraiser

Each and everyone of us have been affected by cancer in some way during our lifetime. Whether you’ve had cancer or you know someone who has had cancer. Most sadly lose the brutal battle but I have been extremely lucky and blessed to have made it through to the other side. Those of you who know me will know that I was diagnosed in June 2019 with HER2 positive breast cancer which is an aggressive and invasive type of cancer. I finished treatments in December 2020. I can honestly say it was the hardest and cruellest time of my life and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I know how blessed I am and now it’s my turn to put something back into what I have had. I want to raise as much money as possible for Clatterbridge Hospital. Without the care provided by this amazing hospital I would not be here and I am so grateful for all they have done for me. They literally do their best for every patient and the staff are amazing.... from tea ladies to professors.  I have set myself a goal which is not going to be easy for July 10th 2021. I am aiming to achieve a mountain climb with an overnight wild camp in a cave. Climbing Dove Crag and hopefully sleeping in Priests Hole overnight then back down the next day. I’m really unfit and still suffering with side effects of chemo and radiotherapy which have left me with limited use in my left arm, peripheral neuropathy in fingers and toes and arthritis in shoulders, spine, hips and knees. So although the challenge won’t seem a big deal to a lot of you I know it’s going to be a big deal to me. My family will be supporting me through this challenge, Dean and our Julie are also going to be attempting it.... my old childhood mate Jimmy Gallagher and with our Jamie and his mates making sure we are safe throughout. Our Taalis mate Shannon Jones is joining us and Taali, Michael and the baby will be camping at the bottom waiting for us with a brew when we return.
