Class of '96 Scholarship
Donation protected
A lot of awards were given out in 1996: from the American Legion and the Shorewood Association of Commerce (way to go, Nick, Meghan, Billy, and Andrea!), for music and and community service (well played, Missy and Kate), from the band parents and the Shorewood Men's Club and the North Shore United Educators. People were celebrated for being good at many things.
What defined our class, however, was not our individual achievements, but our sense of community and generosity. We were good to each other, and deeply giving to the school we shared.
To honor the best part of our class, we seek to fundraise for the Class of '96 Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to the person with the best spirit of generosity and commitment toward the service and care of others.
It would be a great tribute to who we are and what we got from SHS, if we could support a deserving senior in the Class of 2017 as s/he goes onto their post-high school life. If everyone in our class donated $20, we would meet this goal. If you can afford more, great -- since not everyone in our class might be reached by this message, any support you can give would be amazing.
