Update from Taiwo!

Dear lovely people, Taiwo Adegoke is my name, I am a Composer, Guitar Educator and ethnic music researcher from Nigeria.

I am proud and humbled to have been accepted to the Graduate School of Boston University to begin studying Ethnomusicology in the Fall term of 2023. In order to reserve my space in the program I must pay a $400 deposit by April 15, 2023. As you might be aware the economy of my home country makes gathering these funds so quickly very difficult. I’ve been working hard on my compositions and arrangements and would like to offer anyone that can contribute to my fund access to a composition from my library.

Chocolate Africa Classical Guitar School (Established, 2021) is a Classical Guitar Project with the vision of creating interest for the classical guitar and its music in Nigeria and Africa at large. It is our mission to teach the classical guitar to the younger generation, most importantly, to children.

Part of this endeavour includes arranging traditional African folk music and making them available on sheet music score for the guitar in order to preserve our culture in music for generations to come, and also make available, Etudes and methods influenced with African traditional folk songs for the guitar, to teach the beginners and as well as to share it as a source of inspiration to the world.

In achieving this vision, the school has embarked on teaching with the few resources available which includes some Guitars, Music stands and chairs which are not enough for the available students and newly enrolled.

It is our dream to spread the love of classical guitar and make it affordable to learn. However, as life will have it, there are less priviledge students amidst them who so much love the Classical Guitar and can't afford the necessities to learn.

We are seeking the support of lovely people in the world in achieving this vision.

You can support and help the school in 3 ways :

1: support us financially to get our pressing needs which includes : Guitars (New or used) Chairs, Music stands, Foot stools, Guitar stands and many more guitar accessories.

2: Help as an Online Visiting Teacher for some of our students, to check their performances, encourage them with words and also give some free master classes and be a mentor to groom their development

3: Serve as a partner with our school or affiliating our school with your music school in your country, such that our students can make friends with your students, organise and attend some online concerts with them and have access to some online performance and workshop that are free or affordable within the range of what we can afford with our current economy
