The past few days have been unprecedented for the whole country, and particularly for small businesses and the hospitality industry ... of which Classic City Eats is both. 

Many of our team, both kitchen and on the service side, have been with Josh and Amy for years, and it was a heart-wrenching decision to close our doors for the time being, for the safety of our customers, our staff and their loved ones. Several team members live with relatives who are in the highest-risk groups, and we wanted to take every precaution possible to ensure their health in this time. The Classic City Eats team is close-knit, and though this decision was made for the greater good, it does not come without unique challenges.

Reduced hours and changing our structure to primarily pick-up meals meant reduced service hours and reduced shifts available for our folks, and closure takes that a step further. We hope this is a temporary situation and that our restaurant is able to open up safely sooner rather than later in some capacity, and continue to review guidance from our city, state and federal leaders. But the uncertainty is frightening, and we want to do everything we can to take care of our people. This is why we humbly come to you asking for financial assistance that will go directly to our servers, our hosts and our kitchen crew to help them make ends meet.
