Hi everyone! My name is Christi Kapels. This is my daughter JoDee, her husband Chase and their beautiful girls Star (12) Mya (9) and sweet Chloe (3 months)
JoDee and her family moved to Norfolk from rural Columbus last July because of better job opportunity and full of excitement for their future!
Very shortly after, they discovered they were expecting a new baby, and life was good! Unfortunately baby Chloe was very determined to meet her family and for the next 8 months tried her hardest to come into this world and was born prematurely.
Although she had a bumpy start and scared us all to death she is now a happy healthy baby and perfect in every way!
Although that was terrifying, it is not the reason for this fund raiser. Unfortunately shortly after her birth Chase was diagnosed with Accoustic Neuroma. This is a benign growing tumor on his cranial nerve connecting the inner ear to his brain.
This tumor has grown to the size of a golf ball! It has already caused permanent loss of hearing in one ear. The tumor needs to be removed or risk further nerve damage causing facial paralysis and loss of balance which would damage his quality of life and his job.
The delicate surgery will be performed at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN as soon as it can be worked into the schedule.
Surgery involves removing a section of the skull behind the ear to access the tumor and the affected nerves.
Chase will be in I.C.U for at least 1 day, 3-5 days hospitalization and weeks of therapy.
Please help this young family by donating what you can . My hope is to relieve the financial pressure so they can concentrate on a speedy and complete recovery.
