In the heart of bustling Lagos, Nigeria, lies Queens College Lagos, a high school filled with bright, eager young girls who dream of transforming their futures. Yet, within the classrooms and beyond, these girls confront obstacles that hinder their potential.
Amidst the promises of growth and opportunity, one critical issue looms large: the erratic supply of electricity. This undercurrent of energy insecurity affects not just their studies but their dreams and aspirations. The need for solar power in this school is urgent and essential—a catalyst that will empower not just individual lives, but entire communities.
Established in 1927, Queens College Lagos is the premier government-owned, female-only secondary school in Nigeria. It was founded under the advice of a diverse and visionary group of women, who believed that women had the right to an education and that educating Nigerian women would help to uplift the nation.
Today, this vision is being placed at risk by substandard electricity.
Please join the class of 1995 as we work to raise $10,000 to provide solar power in the classrooms of 820 promising girls.
