Every year, the New Studio on Broadway Sophomores put together a two-night benefit where each and every one of us sings a song we've been working on. To do this, we are in charge of finding a venue, lighting and sound equipment, musicians, and anything else we need to make the night as magical as possible. More than that, though, this night is dedicated to RAINN.
Founded in 1994, RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE, online.rainn.org y rainn.org/es) in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country. RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice. 93 cents of every dollar donated goes to educating over 130 million people on prevention and recovery, improving and fighting for sexual assault laws to ensure survivors get the justice they deserve as well as aiming to hold colleges accountable for preventing and responding to sexual assault.
Any funding that we raise here will be monumentally helpful for putting on the show, but more importantly for making the world a better place. The Sophomores donate their performance and all profits to RAINN. Thank you!
