Dear Class of 2012 and Parents from the Class of 2012:
Our class has suffered immeasurable losses since graduating, having lost three of our former classmates: Jeff Mburu, Michael Larkin, and Trudi Somerville.
In their spirit that we would like to dedicate 3 benches at Altamont from the Class of 2012 in memory of Jeff, Michael, and Trudi. It seems fitting that this can be a place for future Altamont students to collect their thoughts among the beautiful peaceful nature of Altamont’s campus or lend an ear to another student in need of a friend. The benches will be handmade by Samuel Fisher (Class of 2006), and will be placed in what our class affectionately called “Poet’s Corner”.
We know that 2020 has been difficult financially for many families, but if you can spare even just a little, we think together as a class we can reach our goal of $8,000 to get these beautiful, handmade benches donated in their memory. There’s no more appropriate time to donate something substantial to expand Altamont’s outdoor space, which is in high-demand during the pandemic.
We plan to hold a dedication ceremony at the school next year during the Class of 2012’s 10-year anniversary.
Let’s rally together Class of 2012 and do this small thing to remember these incredible people we were all lucky enough to call classmates and friends.
