#ClarkStrong - Fight against Leukemia!
Donation protected
A few months ago, Camia and Caleb, Clarkie's parents, began to notice some ailments with their 2.5 year old son but were basically blown off by all ER doctors and specialists with the exception of their very smart, kind and educated Pediatrician. She never stopped reaching out to other specialists trying to determine what was causing his ailments and funny bloodwork.
Some of the scary possibilities included lymphoma and leukemia, but both were ruled out by an oncologist. A couple of weeks ago, by chance, his elbow was pulled out of socket in a freak movement….sending him to the ER. They were unable to re-set so they wrapped it and sent him home. Over the whole agonizing weekend, Clarkie ached with every movement.
On Monday a specialist tried to re-set but was unable…so they placed his arm in a cast him and sent him home. Two weeks later, the bone specialist took an x-ray and immediately informed Camia and Caleb that their son either had leukemia or an even scarier bone cancer.
They were whisked off to the ER in a different Children’s Network and he is currently receiving Chemo for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Camia is a new stay-at–home mom as she recently had Clark’s little brother and Caleb works full-time. This has only been the first week of treatment and they are already realizing the dire financial struggles they will be facing over the next 3-5 years. Clark will be in and out of the hospital in Dallas. The family will wrack up childcare costs for the baby, medical bills for Clarkie, and Caleb may have to miss paychecks to be with his son.
The funds raised in this initial drive will help cover costs for the family. The funds will also help them have an air cleaner installed in their home to purify the airin the whole house as Clarkie's immune system will have to be damaged by chemo before his little body can heal.
Please donate if you can, share if you are willing and pray for little Clarkie and his family!
Please also consider signing up to be a bone marrow donor to help all people who are confronted with blood cancers. https://bethematch.org/support-the-cause/donate-bone-marrow/join-the-marrow-registry/
