A magnificent person has left us. Clark Osojnicki has died.
We cannot wave a magic wand and make this nightmare end for Kris -- but we can show up. This fundraiser is one way, and it is in response to the many requests about how we can help Kris.
Mary-Ann Sontag Bowman (Montana) and Jess Larson (Minnesota) created and are jointly managing this fundraising campaign. All funds raised will be used to pay funeral expenses and if there is a balance, it will be applied to medical bills.
Clark Osojnicki entered the hospital after a period of relatively minor symptoms of illness. When he was out of breath walking a short distance in the house one afternoon, Clark and Kris did the right thing and got him to Urgent Care. He was admitted to the hospital.
Clark tested positive for Covid-19 and spent nine days on a ventilator in ICU. He died on Monday, April 6, 2020.
The pandemic is not only taking lives like our friend, Clark, but doing so in such cruel ways. Kris was unable to visit him for those nine days because of the virus. She wasn't there to hold his hand when he died. Her last words to a heavily sedated Clark were through an electronic device.
Kris has lost her best friend, her husband, her everything -- and her family's primary breadwinner. This is our way to help minimize other losses for Kris, and to give all of us who so desperately want to "do something" a place to do just that.
