Hi this is Lana. I am Clark’s step-daughter and the one who loves to aggravate him the most. Don’t worry, he equally aggravates me and has made me cry by pinching me with his toes before . On January 9, 2023, just one day after his 60th birthday, Clark had a massive heart attack. We fully believe God lined up every second of that day to work in Clark’s favor for him to have made it to the hospital. Normally Clark goes to bed early once he gets home from work because he’s so tired from going all day. This day he went to his grandson’s basketball game and got home late. Had he went home and went to bed we believe he would have died in his sleep since his symptoms didn’t start until 9:45 pm. When mama called me (my phone was on loud and my phone is NEVER on loud when I am in bef) so I was able to get to their house within 8 minutes. (Again, God had lined it up). Once I got to their house his pulse was 24, very faint, and his blood pressure was very low. He had no color. He was dizzy, holding his chest, clammy, and we had no time to wait on an ambulance. We told him “Clark get up! You have to walk to the truck now!” As bad of shape he was in, Clark stood up and walked to the truck! (I’m still in shock but I know our God was moving him). On the way to the hospital he tried to convince me he was fine, “Lana, it was just the 3 pieces of pizza and Dr Pepper!” ♀️ We got to the hospital and confirmed it was a heart attack. A bad one. But still, Clark was talking and joking with us because he knew we were scared and that’s just who he is. He cares about others more than himself. I called my cousin who is a flight EMT and he was working that night. Clark’s only concern “HELICOPTER?! How much that going to run me?!” ♀️ They had the helicopter there within 5 minutes. Again, everything was lining up in Clark’s favor. They got him to Tupelo and performed his first heart cath. 3 main arteries were occluded along with other blockages. He came out of surgery still talking and joking. We found out later that day, during the first heart cath Clark vomited during the procedure and aspirated. Which made his lungs very sick. Since that first surgery on January 9, he has been placed on a ventilator, had 2 more major surgeries for his heart, went into cardiac arrest during the last surgery, and is currently in kidney failure. He’s on 7 different medications to help support his heart and other organs that were damaged during the heart attack. He’s looking at possible dialysis within the next day or 2. He has a long road ahead of him and before placed on the ventilator all he kept talking about was going home and how much his hospital bill would be. We assured him that was the least of our worries and the most important thing was him getting better!!
My mom is currently not working so she can stay with Clark at the hospital and Clark will not be working for a long time (whether he believes so or not). In a perfect life, bills would be placed on hold and families wouldn’t have to be concerned with the worry of an income, but we know that’s not the case.
All donations will be used for Clark and Susan’s bills and any medical bills that will soon begin to roll in. Clark doesn’t have medical insurance and he was stressed about this even though we told him to hush! We just want to take a little off of his plate so he can focus on himself and getting better when he wakes up! He had already asked could he go home on Tuesday!! But even if you’re unable to donate, we continue to ask for prayers and Clark’s healing!! His health and for him to come back home to us is most important!! He is a living miracle and so many doctors and nurses have messaged or told us everyone is talking about how amazing it is that he is alive. We know this is because Clark is a man of God. He spreads God’s word every chance he gets!! We can’t wait to hear his testimony one day!!
thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for praying for our cowboy! We love him dearly and NEED him back home with us.
Love,
Lana
