Support Clark's Fight To Survive
Donation protected
These funds are being raised to help the family stay in Houston to assist Clark as he will need round the clock care during this last chance of beating his cancer.
The first sign something was wrong was during the Hotter Than Hell bicycle race in Wichita Falls Texas during the summer of 2018. Clark experienced pain in his leg. Not particularly unusual for the conditions. However, once home, his left leg began to swell and the pain increased. Through many tests, it was determined he had cancer. He was 22 years old with a body that appeared to that of a strong, healthy athlete.
The cancer was a very aggressive small germ cell cancer that was widespread, kidneys, liver, lungs, and a tumor on his spine. In February 2020 he was considered in remission.
In February 2023 he was still cancer free. But by June 2023 he was diagnosed with metastatic liver cancer that had spread to his lungs and lymph nodes and they started emergency chemotherapy. He has completed four rounds of chemo, but the cancer is already showing signs of resistance. He is also experiencing neuropathy in his hands and feet which is making it where he can not tolerate one of the chemo drugs. MDAnderson feels his best chance of survival is to have a stem cell transplant. This is a very lengthy process that will require us to stay in Houston for three to four months.
This is the schedule:

Best case scenario 3 months and be home December 20th
Worse case be home mid to late January
Clark very much wants to have a normal life. He has lost so much of his 20's. Because of the chemo he will not be able to have children. He hopes to some day get married and adopt. For now he has dog Jax that is constant companion and offers much emotional support.
