Claridge Family Treasure Cay, Abaco Fund
Donation protected
Our cousin, Donna Romano Claridge and her husband Norman Claridge a native of Nassau moved to Treasure Cay, Abaco in 1983, along with three of their sons, Bruce, Christopher and Matthew. Since then their family has grown by three daughters in law Denise Cannarella, Tara Hingle, Barbara Plossl, and five grandchildren. Three of whom ages 12, 8, and 7 lived on Abaco. Norman has lived and worked in the Bahamas his whole life. Everything they have ever owned was lost in Hurricane Dorion.
This video is only one of the Claridge homes that was destroyed. They lost everything, their homes, their businesses, and their transportation both land and sea. Their sons have lost their businesses as well, but thankfully not their lives. Donna and Norman had left Treasure Cay to go to Florida for medical reasons prior to Dorion forming. Dorian made landfall on Sept 1st 2019, in Marsh Harbour. Leaving all with no communication, no power, no water. They had very little food and bottled water for survival. Their children and grandchildren lived with much uncertainty until three separate rescues from Abaco were successfully accomplished on Sept 7th. Arriving at three separate locations in Florida. They are all now trying to figure out how to rebuild their lives.
Your prayers and good wishes helped them get to Florida safely. So many of you have asked what you can do to help and we appreciate your concern. My family decided to start this go fund me campaign to help Donna and Norman and their family. We ask that you continue to pray as they start to rebuild their lives. Any financial assistance that you can donate to help them on their journey to rebuild their lives would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your loving generosity. It will help them make their lives successful again.
Unfortunately, with all the devastation on the island, it will be a long time, (if ever) that they will be able to return to Abaco.
