One the evening of Jan 11th, 2016 Clarice’s life changed forever and she almost became a statistic. The car Clarice was a passenger in was tragically shot in a drive-by freeway shooting . A .45 caliber bullet went up through her back and severed her aorta, stopping right before her kidney. This stopped the blood flow through her whole body she was rushed to the best trauma hospital in her county. In this Hospital with an amazing group of medical staff that worked tirelessly for hours to save her life. Clarice underwent several surgeries and she received 33 liters of blood for just one of these surgeries alone! The medical team having no other option had to choose life over limb and Clarice went through a partial amputation of her right leg. There are no words that can explain what a devastating and life altering blow this was for Clarice. She is a very active woman that enjoys mountain biking, hiking, running, fancy Shawl, And a Native jingle dancer .

It has been quite a journey for Clarice navigating through this new found life. Clarice has been blessed with two miracles; her strong and beautiful sons. She wants nothing more than to get back to doing all the life adventures again as she once did. But now with her two boys. To show and teach how to swim, ride a bike, and all the things we often take for granted!

We want to help Clarice reach two goals and are humbly seeking out help for our Sister!

Her first goal is to have a water prosthetic leg built. This will enable her to be in the water with her babies. Unfortunately insurance does not cover the cost of prosthetics, and she needs at least half to get started covering the material cost of $9,781.87

We also are adding into this an exercise bike so that Clarice can get moving again, killin’ her goals, and still be close to her boys. Let’s help lift this Native American Mama, Sister, Friend, and Beautiful Soul up off the sidelines and get her back in the game!! Let’s give her the gift of being able to teach her boys how amazing the river and ocean water feels agains your skin. How fun it is! How healing it is!
