My name is Niki Smith, sister-in-law to Clarence Mitchell.

On November 2, Clarence was admitted to hospital, for dehydration and trouble breathing from the Covid-19 virus.

The hospital determined Clarence had water on his lungs. This was the second time that he was taken by ambulance to hospital within a week.

On Nov 3, Clarence was transported to another hospital that has more resources and placed in the ICU, as his health has deteriorated quickly.

Clarence, along with my sister Sunny, their four year old daughter Shoshana and one year old son Andy, all four tested positive for the virus almost two weeks ago.

The virus has taken a physical, emotional, and spiritual toll on the family. Unfortunately, it has taken a financial toll on them as well.

My sister's young family is now facing real financial hardship without Clarence's income, and Sunny still on maternity leave due to extenuating medical circumstances.

Furthermore, Clarence's 15 year old daughter Clara, tested negative for virus and remains isolated away from the rest of the family in the same home.

Sunny is doing all she can to carry her family through this difficult and exhausting time.

To help Sunny to navigate through this hard time as they recover from the virus and battle the distance between them, we have set up place for you to offer support.
