Our dear friend and Westlake community member, Patrick Flanagan lost his amazing wife, Veronica (aka V) to cancer just before the winter break. This beautiful family which includes Seamus (Grade 4) and Maggie (Grade 2) are an integral part of our school and neighborhood. There are simply no words to convey the loss they are experiencing.
Veronica was an outstanding mother, wife, daughter, niece, friend, professor, writer and human. She was an active volunteer at Westlake before she became ill, coming in to support teachers and all students as a volunteer.
She is dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
Many people have come together in hopes of helping the Flanagans as they navigate this loss. We have started this fund in hopes of making a collection that will go towards the children's education or any expenses that the family will incur.
