* Update! You guys are awesome! We exceeded our initial goal of $5,000! Let's keep going! Josh and Kristen will have lots of recurring medical and personal costs over the next six months of Claire's chemo treatments, so let's keep sharing their story and sending them love.

Claire Davis turned 1 last week, and 5 days later began invasive chemo therapy to treat her leukemia...not the way you want to celebrate a birthday. Claire has Down syndrome and has fought many battles in her life so far, including open heart surgery. Our aim as her friends and family is to assist her sweet parents, Josh and Kristen, in any way we can.

The treatment plan she is under now consists of a total of 6 months of inpatient chemotherapy in 6 week intervals. If she is doing well after each 6 week stint, she will get to go home for a week of rest before going back to hospitalization. This is going to be a long road, but all in her camp are hopeful and remaining positive.

Unfortunately, we don't have the superpowers to take away her cancer, but we can make this whole process slightly easier for her folks. To help, we set up this GoFund Me account to collect money to assist the Davis family with their expenses during this rough time. Not only do hospital costs add up, but the family will also be eating out more often and cutting back on their work loads to be with their daughter, which means less income coming in. Josh has currently exhausted his vacation and sick leave and Kristen is cutting back on shifts at her job. The last stress this family needs is a financial burden.
