Claire's Crew: Fighting DIPG

Nine-year-old Claire Hornby is fighting for her life. In May 2019, she received a diagnosis of Diffuse Midline Glioma. This is a rare, aggressive brain tumor that currently has no cure. In January, doctors at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital found that the cancer had metastasized to Claire's spine. Her family has been told that she is not expected to survive 2020. 

We are heartbroken for Claire and her family. It's time to rally around this amazing family and support them as they navigate the most difficult time of their lives. 

Claire is currently being treated at St. Jude, which is an incredible blessing. Although the majority of medical expenses are being covered, the bills at home in Wausau are piling up. Kirsten, Claire's mom, has exhausted all of her paid leave to care for Claire since her diagnosis. She is only able to work intermittently, and without her steady income, the family is facing serious financial hardship.
