Memorial and Claire Mallardi Choreographic Fund
Claire Mallardi, Dance Director Emerita, who founded and developed the Harvard Dance Program at Radcliffe College and Harvard University, died at 91 on October 2, 2020. Due to COVID, we are only now able to properly celebrate her life and legacy.
We want to share the memory of Claire Mallardi and her impact on all of us as dancers, friends and family. We want to encourage young students to look into the history of Harvard’s dance program and how Claire Mallardi paved the way for them. We hope our support will encourage the creative spirit in young dancers to continue to delve deeper and speak freely in the pursuit of their choreography. Let’s keep dance and the art of making new work alive and help future dancers follow in Claire Mallardi’s footsteps. Her legacy will live on in them!
In this GoFundMe page, we are raising funds first to help cover costs for the Memorial Celebration. Any additional money raised will help establish a Claire Mallardi Choreographic Dance Fund, though more information about donating directly to the Fund will be forthcoming.
