Claire Kreger-Boaz

Donation protected
Claire  Kreger-Boaz was diagnosed at 18 years old with a bicuspid aortic valve which has significantly deteriorated and has caused ascending aortic aneurysm. Now 46, she requires open heart surgery on April 3, 2019, to replace her aortic valve and repair the aneurysm.

The surgery required will replace her aortic valve and repair the aneurysm. The need for open heart surgery is urgent as the valve and/or aneurysm failing could result in sudden death. She will be in ICU for 1-2 days, in the hospital for 5-7 days, recovering at home for 6 weeks, then she has to start cardiac rehab. Her surgeon expects that she will be able to return to work in about four months.

Claire will be on disability during the weeks of recovery and although the life saving procedure will be covered by insurance, it will still be very costly.  She and family will surely be facing a tight budget and unexpected costs. Our hope is to eliminate any unnecessary financial duress during this critical and already stressful time.

Also, in addition to donations, there will be a meal train link available soon.
