Claire Kerr fundraiser
4x2x24 on 5-21 for Claire Kerr
Claire Kerr is a 15 year old from Bloomington and is a student at Normal Community High school. Claire contracted the Covid-19 virus in December and was eventually admitted to Carle Hospital in Urbana on February 1st, where she would spend 13 days in the hospital and 5 days on a ventilator. She developed a rare, but serious, complication called MIS-C (Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children). This is an inflammatory syndrome in children that is a result of Covid-19. Claire is home, but is still suffering from cardiac issues requiring continued care and visits to a cardiologist.
Noah Young (Ridgeview Alumni-Class of 2017) and Robert Riggins (Ridgeview Teacher) will be running a 4x2x24 on May 21st starting at 1 p.m. to raise awareness of MIS-C and raise funds to assist with the medical expenses incurred by the Kerr family. The run will consist of 4 miles every 2 hours for 24 hours. The fundraiser will be held at the Octavia Park District. Anyone and everyone is invited to come out and run/walk for however long they would like. All donations will go straight to the Kerr Family to assist with Claire’s continuous fight with MIS-C.
Donations will be accepted online through Go fund me or on site the day of the event or can be mailed to: People’s State Bank of Colfax, PO Box 527, Colfax, IL 61728.
