Hello! I’m Claire Keating.
Originally from Croagh, I now help run a small family business in Newcastle West.
Since 2015, I’ve helped lead the Limerick Against Pollution campaign opposing the Mungret incineration plans.
Now, I want to do more, this time as the first Green Party TD - and the first woman TD - for Limerick County.
In Limerick and Ireland, we have a health crisis. A housing crisis. A transport crisis. The rural mid-west is in decline. Plus we’re all being personally affected by our climate getting worse. Extreme weather. Flooding. Droughts and wildfires - remember summer 2018?
The challenge we now face is adapting Ireland to our changing climate while protecting our homes, health, and livelihoods.
We can retrofit homes for renewable heat. Build local facilities. Plan housing and transport together. Pay farmers for land management. Produce biogas by anaerobic digestion. The solutions exist. We need the political will to get it done.
But election campaigns are always expensive and I am asking for your help please.
Any contribution no matter how small will be very much appreciated and will make a real difference to my campaign
€50 will cover the cost of an ad on social media
€100 will cover the cost of 1000 leaflets
€250 will cover the cost of an advertisement in local paper
N.B - To comply with SIPO (Standards in Public Office) guidelines:
· Anonymous donations over €100 cannot be accepted.
· Any donation (or aggregate of donations) of more than €600 from any individual must be declared to SIPO.
· The maximum donation allowed in a calendar year from one individual is €1,000
· Donations can only be accepted from residents of the Republic of Ireland or Irish citizens abroad.
By donating, you confirm that you are an Irish resident or an Irish citizen living overseas and that you have not exceeded the maximum annual donation to the Green Party of €2,500
Your name and details will be held by the Green Party and used to cross reference against other donations to guarantee compliance. Records held for the purpose of compliance will be held only for the statutory period then deleted and will not be used for any other purpose or shared.
· Your donation is greatly appreciated as every cent raised goes to winning this campaign and giving Limerick County a new green voice in Dáil Éireann.
